A bullet hell scored by Satie, Beethoven and Verdi
Odyssey of Sound is out now on Android
Free · No forced ads · English / 한국어 / 日本語
You fire your first shot into the stillness of Satie's Gymnopédie No.1, and that shot lands as a lo-fi kick drum. By the time you reach Beethoven's Pathétique, the rondo has already broken loose into heavy trap. The shooting is the percussion. That is the whole idea.
Classical music was the tyranny
The Purists — an empire that enforces the rigid order of the written score —
cage the cosmos inside a perfect Tetris grid.
You fly for The Freerider, a resistance armed with guitar distortion and
off-kilter drums, out to shatter the grid and let rhythm run free.
Ten stages, ten genres
Every track is a public-domain masterwork, re-scored and rendered from MIDI rather than sampled from a recording. Each stage rebuilds its piece in a different electronic genre.
Your ship is a mixing desk
The three ships don't differ in raw power. They differ in genre. Pick a different one and the same piece reaches your ears differently.
STRIDER
Rock / Metal
Graze Overdrive. Shave past enemy bullets and every weapon erupts into 2x damage beat-enhanced fire.
RAPID
EDM / Swing
Drum Beat Dash. A fast swipe grants a 0.35s invincible dash and drops a beat blast that wipes nearby bullets.
VANGUARD
Avant-garde Polyrhythm
Harmonic Shield. Hold still and a keyboard shield unfolds to swallow incoming fire. Purely defensive — knowing when to stop is the skill.
Then there's EX-HARD
Clear stage 10 and it unlocks. An 808 kick, snare rolls and sub-bass are layered over the original score and synthesised in real time — not a pre-rendered remix file, but a layer generated on the spot as you play. The same piece becomes something else entirely.
No ad ever interrupts you
There are no interstitials cutting into the flow of play. Ads appear only when you tap a button asking for one — to revive, to double your shard payout. There are no in-app purchases either.
Play it with headphones or speakers on. Sound is half of this game.
